The Triple Gems are the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha.
Buddha is “The Fully Enlightened One” or “The Awakened One”. It is the title given to those who have attained supreme and perfect Enlightment.
Dhamma is the Teachings of the Buddha about nature of life.
Sangha are the fourfold community of monks, nuns, male and female lay followers, who practice and uphold the Buddha’s teachings.
The Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha are called the “Triple Gem” because they represent qualities which are excellent and precious like a gem. Buddha is the precious teacher of Dhamma. Dhamma is the precious things for all living beings in living together on this world, inside dharma we can realize the nature of law. Sangha are the precious unity, Dharma could stay exist, protects and meaningful because of them.
